June 23, 2007 – AAGS general meeting
At the June meeting, members shared experiences from their attendance at recent conferences. NGS in Virginia: Casandra Brown highlighted some of the courses and will provide details at an upcoming AAGS meeting. IGHR Samford University in Alabama: Patricia Arnwine related the importance of networking, and how researchers overlook the significance of researching records of mixed races considering past kinships of Native Americans, African Americans, and European Americans. Member workshops followed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level groups. We were also pleased to welcome visitor Jean Barnes, Ohio Genealogical Society member-at-large (photo).
