August 26, 2004 - Experience the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center
For anyone interested in history, the National Underground Railroad
Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio is definitely a site worth seeing. The
African American Archive and Restore Cleveland Hope offered a bus tour on
August 26 to visit the newly opened multimedia facility, and the offer was
readily accepted by many AAGS members. The photo at left shows Nishani
Frazier, Associate Curator for African American History at WRHS (who
coordinated the trip), along with tour staff. Photo on the right - AAGS
members, along with Rev. Marvin McMickel and others, enjoyed the fabulous
design, powerful exhibits, interactive displays, and high-tech story
theaters that allowed glimpses of freedom's past and present.
