Feb. 18, 2006 - Exploring Family Roots at Morley Library in Painesville
In honoring Black History Month, The Friends of Morley Library and the
Lake County Genealogy Society asked AAGS to take part in a day devoted to
researching African American family histories. Our Education Committee
tag-teamed to provide information starting from the basics (with tidbits
on organization and getting started) all the way to researching slave
ancestors. Afterwards, Morley Reference Librarian and database
coordinator Louise Kloss (right) demonstrated the use of research databases
available at Morley Library (can be accessed from home) - including the
African American Biographical Database. (Photo on the left is of Lake County Genealogical
Society Librarian Sally Malone).
