July 29, 2006 – Gems from the Georgia Archives
What a treat. Valerie Frey, Education Coordinator, brought AAGS “the goods” – sharing what the Georgia Archives has to offer and how to gain from its generous resources. Deftly navigating us through the inventories and collections accessible on line (Colonial Wills, Confederate military records, legislative documents & much more) – Ms. Frey also detailed the non-digitized records that are on hand. The institution has a wide range of documents to aid genealogists connect with the past, and the photo collection is phenomenal. Kudos to Ms. Frey for her informative presentation, knowledge, and greatly helpful responses geared toward the group’s general and specific needs.
