June 24, 2006 - The Value of Collateral Lines
At the June meeting held at Fairview Park Library, Dr. Deborah Abbott outlined the importance of researching collateral lines (descendants from the same ancestor but not a direct line). Click here for a summary.

The June meeting was also an opportune time (same week as Father’s Day) to celebrate paternal heritage. Members honored their male parentage by using their genealogical information and photos in a slideshow presentation (David Simpson), on a distinctive towel (Clancy Ware-left photo), and on a display filled with memorabilia (Carmine Stewart-right photo). Carmine captured the essence of fathers as she related her dad’s history, legacy, and ways in which she is following in his footsteps (including being a Cleveland Browns fan).
