Past Event Review

March 22, 2003 Jane Campbell Arrington, of the Oberlin African American Genealogy & History Group, "hit the nail on the head" with her March AAGS presentation on organizing research material. She provided pointers from 'A' to 'Z' -- covering fundamental research standards, pros & cons of filing units, 'tools of the trade,' supply costs, filing styles and systems, what to take on research trips, and when to start organizing -- NOW! Jane shared her personal experiences and provided a useful handout of guidelines, tips, web site resources, and reference books. For those just starting to do research, Jane set them on the right path. And for those who have been researching for a while with papers 'everywhere' -- she offered ways to correct poor filing habits. Overall, Jane showed how good organization enables you to make the most of your researching efforts.
