November 19, 2005 - AAGS general meeting included "Tips for purchasing a computer."
Computer professional Valerie Stewart accomplished a major feat by simplifying the often complicated task of selecting the "right" computer. AAGS members breathed a sigh of relief as she cut through techno-speak and armed us with what we really needed to know. In essence, potential buyers should pre-determine "How will I use it?", "What operating system do I need?", and "How much am I willing to spend?" Valerie provided a PC "show & tell" and offered much-appreciated guidance in layman's terms. Her presentation, handout, and Q&A reinforced the sound advice to not choose a PC because it is the "latest & greatest,", but because it best fits your particular needs.
